Abstract

The genesis of laterite is still a controversial problem. According to the geological profile, grain size, minerals and chemical composition of the laterite in a studied area in Guixian, Guangxi, the authors consider that the laterite there belongs to the sedentary-slope wash deposition. The materials are originated from the underlying dolomite and limestone, with a considerable part from the neighbouring areas.
