Abstract

The Luota Area in Northwestern part of Hunan Province is a synclinal confluence basin of bare karst. It has a special hydrogeological structure composed by several karstified aquifers which are connected, but in some cases separated each other by non-soluble beds ( Multi-aquifer). There are many subterranean streams totalling 51 in number of main streams and branches, and 82 km in length. It is typical to some extent for similar karst region.
