Abstract: In this paper the speleogens of limestone caves in the famous Guilin karst peak-forest area are discussed, and a classification proposed. The solutional patterns in the caves can be divided according to their morphologic characteristics into five basic types: orientational flow mark type, pocket type,trough and groove type,tubing type, and cave-wall protruding type. 37 terms of different features are listed.
